3rd Workshop on Computer Vision for Developing Countries (CV4DC) 2026

The 3rd Workshop on Computer Vision for Developing Countries (CV4DC) will be held in-person in conjunction with ACCV 2026 in Osaka, Japan on December 14-15, 2026 (exact day to be assigned by the conference).

We invite students and researchers from developing countries, regardless of their current location, to submit their work to the 3rd Workshop on Computer Vision for Developing Countries (CV4DC). The workshop aims to highlight research that is either conducted in or particularly relevant to developing regions, spanning new ideas, ongoing projects, practical applications, and previously published work (within the last year).

Much of the world's population lives in settings where vision systems have to work under real constraints: limited compute, intermittent connectivity, low-cost or low-resolution sensors, scarce labeled data, and many underserved languages. Work that takes these constraints seriously, such as efficient architectures, data-efficient and self-supervised learning, robustness to domain shift, and multilingual vision-language models, pushes the field in directions that benefit everyone. Past editions have featured disease detection in low-quality medical scans, road-safety assessment from low-cost cameras, crop disease and agricultural monitoring, livestock health monitoring, school mapping for connectivity, remote sensing, and OCR for underrepresented scripts.

CV4DC seeks to foster collaboration, inclusion, and impact in the global vision community by showcasing contributions that address local and global challenges. Participation is open to all, but in the abstract we strongly encourage highlighting contributions from researchers affiliated with developing countries, especially the presenting author.

What is new in 2026. After the first edition at ACCV 2024 in Hanoi and the second at ICCV 2025 in Honolulu, CV4DC returns to ACCV and to Asia. We keep the two-track submission model introduced in 2025, and for the first time we are running a workshop challenge on resource-constrained computer vision for developing-region applications.

The full day brings together invited talks, oral and poster presentations, the challenge results, a panel discussion, and a dedicated mentoring session where junior researchers can get feedback on their work and careers from senior members of the community.
